Boracay is acknowledged by most experienced travellers and international
travel magazines to be one of the best beaches in the world. Just
a short one hour flight from Manila, it enjoys a perpetual summer
with blissfully tropical days and cool relaxing evenings...
Activities on the Island vary from having a relaxing massage and sunbathing
on the beach, to horse riding or quad biking around the island. Although
Boracay is a small Island, it offers a wealth of adventure whether
you prefer the powder soft white beaches or its lush green, jungle-like
interior. Here are just a few of the activities on offer which we
can help arrange for you: |
| Explore
the island |
The
trip to Boracay is not complete without having discovered the islands
coves and other various island hide-a-ways on-board a banka or outrigger
boat. Banka rentals for one day start at approximately US$ 20.00.
To see what else the land has to offer, explore the Island on a mountain
bike, scooter, motorbike or quad bike which are not only great fun
but also the best way to find those out-of-the way, unspoiled parts
of Boracay. Paths crisscross most of the island so it's perfect for
the adventurous and allows you to sample each of the dozen beaches
on offer. Rent a bicycle or motorbike on an affordable hourly or daily
basis, available at many establishments on the island.
For those who really want to get back in touch with nature, try exploring
on foot or experience the joy of horse riding around the island. The
islands stables allow you to take out ponies and horses which are
led by experienced guides if you need them, so riders of all ages
are welcome. |

Paraws,
small outrigger sailboats, may be rented with or without the two-man
crew, depending on your sailing skills. Sailing instruction is also
available. Many of the paraws beached along White Beach are for
rent, starting at $10 an hour. For a magical experience, hire one
out on a beautiful sunset ride.
If you would like to get closer to the marine life around the island
but would like to stay dry, glass bottom boat tours are available,
but if you do enjoy getting a little wet, scuba diving cannot be
missed. The rich marine life beneath the crystal blue waters that
surround Boracay make for very interesting dives or snorkelling
trips for the whole family. Boracay diving trips for the experienced
divers and lessons for the newcomers are offered by many dive centrs
on the Island. |

| Water
sports |
| There
are many aquasports available for visitors, whether competing in professional
competitions or for recreational beginners. Boracay is now considered
Asia's best windsurfing and kiting destinations with international
competitions around the month of February every year. You will find
many windsurfing and kitesurfing schools on Boracay and equipment
can be rented out at reasonable costs. Also available to experience
at Boracay are sessions of skim boarding, wakeboarding, parasailing,
kayaking and for the kids, banana boating. |

| On
the beach |
Boracay
is a haven not just for the aquasports enthusiasts but for beach sports
buffs as well. Among the sports, which Boracay has become famous for
internationally, are beach volleyball and soccer. Annual tournaments
are held to promote these sports on the island. But if beach sports
aren't your thing, try out the 18 hole island golf course, the tennis
courts or work out at one of the islands gyms.
For guests who prefer to relax on the white sandy beach, you can sunbathe
or lie in the cool shade of the coconut trees watching the colourful
beach activities take place. Beach massages are also always on offer
and quite an affordable way to unwind. |
 |
| Cultural
experiences |
With
the zest to satisfy every palate and for lovers of the nightlife,
the Boracay beachfront is lined with restaurants serving both Asian
and international cuisines. Sample the nightlife and experience bar
hopping through the varied options of open-air bars, karaoke bars,
live music venues and discos.
For more family fun and for the shoppaholics out there, try out one
of the many markets on the island selling a range of wares from traditional
ornaments, Filipino food treats and souvenirs to island jewellery
and beach wear.
Kids not had enough? Take them on a tour of Bolabog Beach's Butterfly
Garden where they can get upclose and personal with some of the island's
more colourful inhabitants, or take them fishing at Kingfisher's Farm
surrounded by mangroves, where you can catch your next meal and even
ask them to cook your catch for you. |
